About Joe

Joseph Deats is a Denver-based photographer specializing in Architecture, Interior Spaces and Commercial Design. He utilizes both artificial and natural light in his work.

A Denver native, Joe has built a substantial career as the area’s premier private photographer for Real Estate, Architecture and Interiors. His work has endeared him to numerous agents, builders and brokers. Joe has photographed thousands of Denver’s finest homes; he has worked with a diversity of professionals, from luxury home brokers to small-scale interior designers, lighting designers, and much more.

Ever the artist, Joe enjoyed a career as a pianist and composer prior to finding himself in photography. Ever the Coloradoan, Joe is an expert snowboarder, rock climber and backcountry athlete. Joe found his joy in photography by chance while visiting relatives in Florida, and he’s been pursuing it with gusto ever since. His work has attracted considerable attention due to his beautifully composed, meticulously crafted images.

While Joe’s work remains largely in Architecture and Design, his breadth of experience and creative intuitions inform him on a great many projects beyond the traditional scope of Architectural and Interior Design photography. Among his current interests are large format photography and alternative print techniques, as well as developing alternative techniques for portraiture.
